Teenage weight loss - The best bets!
These are the most uncertain years of our lives - and everybody goes through it. And, if your kid is overweight, then it is no more a talk & tell problem.
It needs serious psychological approach to convey the right message to your teen. It is your job to turn into a counselor. Here are some time tested rules….
- Be compassionate : have a very open hearted chat with your ward on a continuous basis. This will instill a lot of confidence in him or her.
- Convey the reality: Challenge any unrealistic goals or images or any quick fixes to weight loss.
- Activate the activity: Involve the household in outdoor activities so that the kid comes into it naturally.
- Breakfasting & Snacking: A healthy breakfast is essential. Indisciplined snacking should be discouraged.
- Count the calories: Even in liquids, count the calorie intake.
- Half is always full: A half plate is always better than a full plate. The other half is the trouble maker - so avoid it.
- Relax & Be Positive: That’s easier said than done. The first 6 steps will help you in achieving this.
