Nine equals Eight principle!

Monday, October 20th, 2008

This principle is neither coined by any famous scientist nor is it rocket science. Its pretty simple and worked wonders for the Tampa Bay.

It was Joe Maddon who devised this principle, simple put as - “9 = 8″; and took this as the theme for the 2008 season. The meaning of this slogan that Maddon relayed to his team was this; 9 players playing hard for 9 innings would be enough to gain one of the 8 playoff berths by the end of the regular season. This principle has so far worked successfully for the team. And the most important thing that he concentrated upon while implementing his theme was- fitness of the players.

Speed, defense and pitching are now the new axioms for baseball and with the game getting cleanesed up so much of the pollution (steroids), Maddon made sure that he took the right steps to reduce his overweight players by giving them only the best diet pills.

With so many diet pills available in the market, Maddon preferred to play safe with pills like Liptovox and Patentrim. And he is seeing the positive results as his players feel more energetic now and can concentrate for longer hours, thereby benefiting the entire team to play well and please their fans.

The common symptom is - eat an excessive amount of food in a single episode and almost immediately make themselves vomit or use laxatives or diuretics (water pills) to get rid of the food in their bodies.
  • Binge-eating: which is out-of-control eating. Common symptoms - people suffering from Binge-eating disorder often eat alone and very quickly, regardless of whether they feel hungry or full. They often feel shame or guilt over their actions.

Some common experimental facts about the eating disorder..

It needs serious psychological approach to convey the right message to your teen. It is your job to turn into a counselor. Here are some time tested rules….

    1. Be compassionate : have a very open hearted chat with your ward on a continuous basis. This will instill a lot of confidence in him or her.
    2. Convey the reality: Challenge any unrealistic goals or images or any quick fixes to weight loss.
    3. Activate the activity: Involve the household in outdoor activities so that the kid comes into it naturally.
    4. Breakfasting & Snacking: A healthy breakfast is essential. Indisciplined snacking should be discouraged.
    5. Count the calories: Even in liquids, count the calorie intake.
    6. Half is always full: A half plate is always better than a full plate. The other half is the trouble maker - so avoid it.
    7. Relax & Be Positive: That’s easier said than done. The first 6 steps will help you in achieving this.
