How Much Exercise is Enough?

Everytime someone wants to lose weight, the first thing that comes to their mind is - exercise. Surely exercise helps in staying fit but it is not the complete cure to reduce weight.

According to CNN most adults need atleast 2 ½ hours of exercise a week. That would mean that you could exercise a half hour for 5 days a week. But is this possible for everyone People simply lack the ability to emphasize the importance of exercise. The truth is exercise offers more benefits to your body than anything else. The amount of exercise you do will directly relate to your risk of cancer, heart attack, stroke, diabetes and other diseases and sicknesses. There are also countless other benefits of exercise that are often overlooked.

How much exercise does one need? - The amount of exercise you need depends largely on your age and your level of fitness. Children and teenagers need at least an hour per day while for adults it all depends on their fitness level. If you are in great shape then vigorous activity is recommended. While people in poor fitness should start out slow with moderate levels of activity. The point is be safe don’t go overboard and get so sore that you never want to exercise again.

Exercise Promotes Weight Loss

It can be obtained by regular activity such as walking or weight- bearing exercises; therefore, by strengthening muscles, enhancing the amount of oxygen consumed, and during activity, you surely can improve your aerobic ability by 15 to 20 per cent. The benefits which are derived by exercise have astonished the researchers, as they have found that these consistent exercises may lengthen life by adding as much as 10 to 20 years to the life span. If done constantly, which is a definite benefit to healthy living consistently shown that being active cuts the risk of untimely death by about 50 per cent for both men and women?
